Q. I have found a memorial headstone the same as one on Cope's Website that is cheaper, would Cope's beat the price ?
A. We would beat the price by £40 if the memorial is exactly the same (written proof or a printout from the website must be given) and the other memorial company must actually service the area you require the memorial fitting in.
Q.What area's do Cope Memorials service ?
A. Included in our list price we will fit memorial headstones to a radius of 30 miles. Including: Derby, Burton, Nottingham, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Ripley, Alfreton, Leabrooks, Matlock, South Normanton, Sutton in Ashfield, Kirkby in Ashfield and all surrounding villages around these areas.
For area's outside the 30 mile radius we would make a surcharge for travel time and expenses. Please call or
email us to get an exact costing for longer distances.
Q. How long do we have to leave the ground to settle before we erect a memorial headstone ?
A. 6 months if the headstone is going directly onto a burial grave.
NOTE: If there is a concrete plinth (looks like a pathway) at the back of the grave, the headstone can be fitted immediately after a burial. In the case of cremated remains a memorial can be erected immediately after the burial of ashes.
Q. How long will it take from ordering my memorial headstone to erection of the memorial ?
A. If your memorial is in stock within 8 weeks. If your memorial has to be imported 12 weeks. If you require a memorial completing in less than 8 weeks please call us with your requirements.
Q. Are there any extra costs to be added to your website/brochure list prices ?
A. Yes, the Cemetery or Church where your memorial is to be fitted will make a charge. This will be added to the total cost of your memorial. Cemetery fees' are not included in our list prices because they vary from place to place, costing from £50-£165 depending on location. Please call or email us to confirm the Cemetery/Church fee for you're area.
Also if you have any extra letters over the 70 included in our list prices we charge £1.75 per letter.
Q. I have seen a memorial that I like on another website/brochure which isn't shown on Cope Memorials website, can you still supply me ?
A. Yes we can, please email or post a photo of the memorial you require to us, with the approximate dimensions of the headstone and base, and we will come back to you within 5 days with a definite price and completion date.
Q. How do I know that my memorial is going to be made and installed to the highest quality ?
A. Malcolm Cope has 45 years experience in engraving and installing memorials and Alex Cope (his Son) has 12 years experience. Our family are 4th generation memorial makers with 100 years establishment. Every memorial headstone is engraved and fitted by Alex and Malcolm Cope themselves; this ensures our high standards are always maintained.
Q. I am worried that my headstone may be vandalised and I won't be able to afford to replace it, what can I do ?
A. We offer a product called stonecare, you can protect your memorial from vandalism from as little as £55 for 5 years. If during this time your memorial is damaged and the damage can be repaired, we would repair it. If the memorial was a write off and could not be repaired we would erect a new replacement memorial headstone. There is no excess to pay.
